Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Friday Arrival + Pigeon Forge Snow

Morning
Drive in and aim to arrive by early afternoon. Check in to your cabin or hotel, grab groceries at Sevierville Walmart before hitting the Parkway.
Friday afternoon Parkway traffic can be slow — arrive before 2pm or after 7pm. Pre-shop for cabin groceries before you hit the Parkway.
Afternoon
Pigeon Forge Snow
Pigeon Forge Snow afternoon session — real indoor snow with tubing lanes. Book tickets in advance as peak sessions sell out.
If Pigeon Forge Snow doesn't work Day 1, it fits as a Saturday afternoon after Dollywood. Book tickets regardless — weekend sell-outs are common.
Evening
Dinner at Old Mill, Huck Finn's Catfish, or Timber Lodge Steakhouse. Then The Island fountain show — free, beautiful, a perfect low-key first evening.
The Island fountain show is free nightly. Grab ice cream from an Island shop and watch from near the fountain.

Day 2: Saturday — Dollywood All Day

Morning
Dollywood
Arrive at Dollywood at opening. Lightning Rod first — it draws the biggest crowds fastest. Then Wild Eagle and Thunderhead while queues are manageable.
Dollywood is best on weekdays — if your long weekend runs Monday-Wednesday, shift Dollywood to Monday. Buy tickets online in advance to save $10-15 per person.
Afternoon
Craftsman's Valley, Celebrity Theater show, FireChaser Express, and family rides. Grist Mill cinnamon bread for a mid-afternoon snack is mandatory.
Check the Dollywood app show schedule before you enter — Celebrity Theater performances are some of the best free-included entertainment in the park.
Evening
Dinner inside Dollywood at Aunt Granny's buffet, or return to Pigeon Forge for a pre-booked dinner show — Hatfield and McCoy or Pirates Voyage.
Hatfield and McCoy runs nightly and includes a full meal. Book in advance during peak season.

Day 3: Sunday — Gatlinburg + Smokies Drive

Morning
Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies
Drive to Gatlinburg (25-30 min). Park at the Ripley's garage. Ripley's Aquarium opens at 9am — go early. The shark tunnel walkway is the highlight — don't rush it.
Sunday mornings in Gatlinburg are quieter than Saturdays. Arrive at opening for the best experience.
Afternoon
Lunch in Gatlinburg, then drive into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park via Newfound Gap Road. Multiple spectacular overlooks — no hiking required. Watch for deer and bears roadside.
National park entrance is free. Download offline maps before entering — cell service is unreliable inside the park.
Evening
Return to Pigeon Forge for a final Parkway dinner or early departure for the drive home. Sunday evening traffic out of Pigeon Forge is lighter than Saturday — a good time to leave.
If driving home Sunday evening, aim to leave by 5pm to beat the outbound weekend traffic. Stop for gas in Sevierville before the highway.
